Recommended Maturation for a Stronger Burn

After opening, leave the bakhoor in a dry, shaded and well-ventilated place for approximately 2–3 weeks. This optional airing period allows excess moisture to reduce. Once suitably dry, place a small amount on lit incense charcoal in a heat-resistant mabkhara. The drier material generally produces denser smoke and a more intense fragrance experience.

How to Use Bakhoor Safely

1 · PREPARE THE BURNER

Place a heat-resistant mabkhara on a stable, non-flammable surface in a well-ventilated room.

2 · LIGHT THE CHARCOAL

Using suitable tongs, ignite incense charcoal and allow it to develop a stable glowing ember. Follow the charcoal manufacturer’s directions.

3 · ADD BAKHOOR

Using metal tongs, place only a small amount of suitably dried bakhoor onto the hot charcoal. Begin with less and add more only if needed.

4 · ENJOY THE FRAGRANCE

Allow the smoke to perfume the room. For denser smoke and a richer aroma, use the recommended 2–3 week airing period before burning.

5 · EXTINGUISH COMPLETELY

Let charcoal cool fully in the burner. Never dispose of hot charcoal in household waste or touch the burner while hot.

Important Safety Notes

Never leave burning charcoal or bakhoor unattended. Keep away from children, pets, curtains, paper, clothing, smoke alarms and other combustible materials. Use only in a heat-resistant incense burner with adequate ventilation. Avoid inhaling smoke directly. Stop use if smoke causes discomfort. The burner, charcoal and nearby surfaces may remain hot long after visible smoke has ended.
